Stainless Steel Bin Tipper, custom made for the food handling industry.

Sitecraft was approached by a major Melbourne food manufacturer who had a requirement to tip bags of produce onto a conveyor line without damaging them. The equipment to carry out this task needed electrical componentry to CAT3 standards and needed to work in a high hygiene food grade environment.

Sitecraft produced a customised bin tipper with the following features to provide a solution that met a unique need, which was a critical component of a new manufacturing process for the customer.

• Full cage guarding with lift up interlocked door
• Electrical componentry to CAT3 specifications

Sitecraft provides ergonomic handling equipment to a major Australian medical supply organisation.

A high volume of small boxes that weighed 6kg each had to be handled. These had to be stacked onto a trolley without the operators having to bend their backs. The trolley itself had to be as light as possible, so that when loaded, it wouldn’t be too heavy for the operator to push. An available trolley would have achieved these goals but weighed a heavy 63kg, which would have been too heavy for the operator.

Sitecraft fully customised a Light Weight Scissor Trolley. This trolleys platform featured a spring that supported the load at an ergonomic working height as boxes were added, or removed. It utilised light-weight aluminium materials, and premium-quality large-diameter caster wheels. Premium-quality, large-diameter caster wheels significantly reduce the rolling resistance of the trolley, also making it easier to push. The trolley platform had to be a specific size with raised edges to suit the particular boxes that is was to be used for.

The end result was a trolley that weighed only 34kg, and achieved all the customers’ requirements. Sitecraft produced 20 units that saved the operators from bending their backs, using excessive pushing force, and therefore avoided general fatigue, back & shoulder strain.

Multi-Tip Bin Tipper

The new Multi-Tip bin-tipper from Dumpmaster is everything a bin-tipper should be - safe, economic, easy to use, versatile, and efficient. Multi-Tip bin tippers are available in single, three phase or battery power.

Dumpmaster Multi-Tip’s features include;

• 150 kg capacity / 1500 mm tipping height.
• The standard cradle is designed for 240 litre MGB wheelie bins. Optional bolt – on spring loaded catch kits enable 80, 120 & 140 litre bins to be emptied as well.

Ergo Bin

The innovative Ergo Bin has recently been trialed by a large National Distribution Company and has produced outstanding results. A number of Ergo Bins were trialed in different locations across the country to help reduce worker fatigue and increases productivity. The process involved the Ergo Bin being loaded with boxes and parcels by the operator from of a conveyer and then taken to a processing station where another operator unpacked the boxes.

Before the Ergo Bin was introduced the operator was required to constantly bend and pick up the boxes out of a bin or trolley and place them on the processing bench for unpacking and quality assessment.After the Ergo Bin was introduced the bending was taken out of the operators work flow as the Ergo Bin features a rising base which keeps the product at a consistent and safe work height.

The rising base can be quickly adjusted to handle different weights by means of an adjusting screw.

Other stand out features includes;

• Top edge provides a comfortable handrail.
• No exposed moving parts
• Recessed wheels for foot protection
• Rigid ABS paneling with tough zinc plated base for maintenance free operation
• The ergonomic "lean out" design provides comfortable knee space and also allows

The Ergo Bin trial demonstrated a significant increase in productivity and lowered worker fatigue and back pain. This innovative product is to be rolled out nationally to all this Companies Distribution Centre's.

Logistec Stainless Steel Reel Handler

Sitecraft have recently supplied a major national food anufacturer with the new and innovative LOGISTEC Stainless Steel Compac lifter fitted with a fully powered Reel and Coil Handler.

Designed to lift, transport and position loads the Logistec, Stainless Steel Reel Handler has been developed following extensive market research into the lifting and handling needs of today's modern production environments. The Compac is flexible in design, operator friendly, easy to use and with its range of features and functionality; it meets the needs of today's lifting requirements.

These stainless steel lifters are ideal for industries where hygiene and resistance to chemicals is of paramount importance. They are widely used in the food and dairy, medical, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

The versatile reel handler enables easy and safe handling of reels or coils. The reel handler is used to lift and rotate reels of film and paper by gripping the reels core and rotating them over to be placed on pallets or loaded onto a production line. The Compac Logistec Stainless Steel Reel Lifter is fitted with a built in Torque limiter to ensure correct gripping pressure is applied to the reel's core every time.

All manual handling has been eliminated with the fully battery/electric reel handler. Powered raise and lower with powered rotation allows the operator to re-orientate the reel or coil with just the press of a button. This innovative handler is now available with a fully integrated ejection collar which eliminates the need for the operator to manually push the reel off the spindle which may cause injury.
