Automated Guided Vehicles

Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) represent the future of warehouse automation. By handling repetitive transport tasks without human intervention, they allow your staff to focus on higher-value activities. AGVs are highly predictable, incredibly safe, and can operate 24/7, providing a rapid return on investment by streamlining internal logistics and reducing the risk of accidents associated with manual vehicle operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do AGVs require a completely clear path to operate?

While AGVs follow set paths, modern units are equipped with advanced LiDAR and ultrasonic sensors. If a person or an obstacle enters their path, the AGV will automatically slow down or stop completely, resuming only when the path is clear.

Sitecraft’s AGVs can be programmed using various navigation methods, including magnetic tape, floor-embedded wires, or “natural navigation” which uses laser mapping to understand the building’s layout without physical markers.
